It is the most horrifying and not funny at all as it represents the grim view of the future, which make you worry for the next generation and even galvanize you into action. It also shows a kind of protest that feels more important than ever.

Stranger Things (2016-2019):

Is it worthy of watching? Yes, it is. Strange things consist of 3 seasons with 33 episodes. It is the throwback to the early 1980s movie of john carpenter and Steven Spielberg. The tv show is about a boy named Will who is trapped by a The Thing-like creature and caught in a Poltergeist-like world. His mom (Winona Ryder) engage the local sheriff to investigate his son Will’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, Will’s dorky, Goonies-like closest friends take to their bicycles to do some sleuthing of their own and guide an alien girl with telepathic power. Season two continues and show dive deeper into the government conspiracies and alien monsters intent on unleashing the village Indiana.  It is the great Sci-fi and metaphorical, real, perfect and blockbuster series to the 80s soundtrack. 

Sense8 (2015-2018):

There is no bigger TV show than Sense8 it is worth watching a sci-fi series created by Lana and Lilly Wachowski. The incredibility of the show drops us into the world where eight stranger from different part of the world somehow linked emotionally and physically with each other. The show consists of two seasons with 22 episodes.

It is one of the most multi-culture, diverse, life-affirming romantic series ever. Through their recent Christmas follow the collection of confused and beautiful people who try their best to understand this connection and use their newly discovered abilities to help each other. It also deals with the issues of gender identity and sexuality through the work of actresses. Sense8 is genuinely a unique series.

Lucifer:

The series revolves around Lucifer Morningstar, a devil who gets bored in Hell and starts to live in Los Angeles. To make his life a bit more entertaining and exciting, he eventually runs a nightclub and becomes a consultant to the LAPD.

Though this series received mixed reviews from the critics, it eventually started living up to its fan’s expectations as new seasons were launched. The fourth and latest season was picked up by Netflix after Fox cut the cord in 2018 after three seasons. Altered Carbon (2018-present)

Based on Sci-fi 2002 novel by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon mixes a couple of extraordinary, new ideas with a great deal of derivation one conveys a series that alternate between brilliant and frustrating. Altered Carbon has only one season with 10 episodes. The show is set in a future where everybody’s souls have been downloaded into stacks, which can be moved into various “sleeves,” or bodies.

Though a person can live for many years until his or her stacks is destroyed. Only the rich can survive as they can afford to buy the new sleeves to live. In this series, a UN elite solder who return to the different sleeve to do his job as a private investigator hired by the wealthy man to solve the murder case of his sleeve. Without a doubt, it’s a great Sci-fi without much of sense of humor, but the directing, visual effects and acting give the genre a claim to prestige TV, and the hardboiled dramatization and blockbuster-commendable fight scenes have so far kept me returning for the more.

The 100 (2014-present):

Apparently, The 100 is one of the longest-running shows. The series was created by Kass Morgan and consists of 6 seasons with over 70 episodes highlighting the sequence to send down a group of teens to Earth from the colony floating in space.

The ship becomes short of oxygen level entering into the critical condition therefore their leader decided to send them on earth to see if it is inhabitable. Later on, these teens will reveal surprises of what is left of mother earth. If you are a fan of thrilling series, then The 100 will keep you pressing the next episode. However, if you want to watch season 5 of The 100, you’ll need access to Netflix US. The 6th season is currently being aired on The CW.

The Twilight Zone:

Without a doubt, The Twilight Zone is one of the greatest Sci-fi series of all the time with its episode about aliens, space travel and technology etc. But it plumbs the depth of madness, human psyche and damnation with great regularity.
